2009 Sutter Indian Summer Golf Classic
Del Paso Country Club was the new setting for the 2009 Sutter Indian Summer Golf Classic, where 126 players and 37 volunteers enjoyed a beautiful day of lunch, golf and dinner, along with a silent auction and raised more than $65,000 for the Sutter Heart and Vascular Institute.  The tournament was such a success that we plan to do it again next year on Monday, September 20 at Del Paso Country Club.  A special thank you to all the golfers, volunteers and sponsors who helped us achieve our goal! 

2009 Together for Kids Walk Across America
The second annual Together for Kids Walk Across America, held on October 17 at Arden Fair Mall, once again provided the opportunity for the community to support the Children’s Center at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento.  Walkers began gathering at 7:30 on Saturday morning and by the time the walk started at 8:30, there were more than 240 men, women and children ready to go!  The three-mile walk, kicked off by the River Cats’ Dinger, raised more than $28,000, exceeding the $20,000 goal.

A special thank you to the top money raisers – the Sutter IV Therapy Department, which raised $2700; Sacramento Country Day School, with $2020 and especially to Makena Kershaw of St. Michael’s school, who asked her friends and family members for their pocket change and turned in $933!  A fun time was had by all – watch for details for the 2010 event and plan to join us.
